Civil servant absenteeism concerns Kiboga residents

The chronic absence of civil servants from their offices has raised concern among the people of Kiboga district saying this is an acceptable. The people have asked the district chairperson to find a remedial for this problem which has destroyed the civil service over a long period of time.

The Kiboga town council NRM party publicity secretary Medi Katenda Kalifani says civil servants report for duty Tuesday afternoon and only to leave Thursday afternoon.

Katenda says it is increasingly becoming a common site to find people seated outside their offices waiting for civil servants, most of whom spend their weekends in Kampala and travel on Mondays’.

Katenda called the new district chairman should find remade for this problem.

During his campaigns the chairman said if elected he would put Kiboga back on the development truck. He says that he has already agreed with district chief administrative officer Rose Ruhono that meeting will be held every Monday morning and Friday afternoon.

The district chairman says this will help to identify civil servants who abscond their duties and meeting.
