Besigye says government wastes his time and asks courts to dismiss cases against him

Retired Col. Dr. Kiiza Besigye, the Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) President has said government is after wasting his time in the courts.

Besigye told the journalists that for the prosecutions failing to present their witnesses in two different cases in separate courts for two consecutive days the government wants to weaken him economically.

On June 15 Lino Anguzu, a state representative in a case filed at the Nabrweru court failed to present witnesses and the case was postponed to July 8 while on June 16 another case at the Kasangati court was adjourned to July 13 after Gladys Nyanzi failed to produce David Mukete and David Owiny to testify against Besigye.

Besigye says that whereas he is wasting his productive time at courts, he has tax obligation to government and personal responsibilities.

Besigye asks the courts handling the cases against him to dismiss them because the government is dillydallying.

He says that it is unbelievable that government can fail to produce witnesses David Mukete and David Owiny who are police officers in its control.
