Forum for democratic change chairman arrested over the death of Col. Edison Muzora

Bushenyi District Forum for Democratic Change party chairman Mzei William Mukaira has been arrested for allegedly proving shelter for the late colonel Edison Muzora prior to his death.

The 80 year old Mukaira a popular Business man in Bushenyi district was arrested on Friday from his home in Bushenyi town.

Polinah Namaye the south western region police spokesperson says the old man arrested came as part of the police investigation into the death of Col. Muzora in May this year.

Col. Edison Muzora was found dead late last month and his body dumped at the entrance to his house.

The circumstances leading to his death are still unclear and the Ugandan police handed over the investigation to the Interpol.

Sources from police told our news reporter in Bushenyi that Mukaira and other are still at large accused of keeping the late Col. Muzora for 8 months at Mukaira’s residence until he died.

By Friday Mzei Mukaira was still at the police station and had refused to record his statement with police.

In related development, the police Rapid response unit raided Kimeza Bar near Bushenyi post office on Friday night and ordered the owner Lydia Kemirembe to open all rooms before they mounted a search.

The police Rapid response unit detective left a search certificate showing they had found nothing in all the rooms, Kimeza Bar is a popular joint for politician in Bushenyi.
