NRM supporters of the former MP for Nakifuma county in Mukono district have petitioned the NRM secretary General Amama Mbabazi seeking help for the party to assist its candidate to regain his seat which he lost in unclear circumstances.

The NRM supporters said that their candidate is being neglected by the party to battle the case in court yet he stood on the party ticket.

The group chairman Hajji  Issa Katongole  said that the returning officer during the election in Nakifuma county  erred and put the votes of their candidate Joseph  Mugambe Kifomusana to Kafero Sekitoleko who shown to have defeated Mugambe in the EC results.

The Electoral commission declared Robert Kafero Sekitoleko as the MP elect for Nakifuma county with 13,178 vote against Joseph Mugambe 13,162 votes.

Mugambe claims that if the wrong entries made in the final tally sheet is corrected his votes will be 13,403 votes against 13,341 votes of his opponent.
