Students warned from indulging themselves in risky sexual activities

The Minister for Karamoja affairs has advised the youth to guard their lives from HIV/AIDS by remaining faithful to their partners.

The Minister and the wife to the president of Rwanda Mrs. Jeanette Kagame where addressing the students of St. Mary’s Namagunga girls school in Mukono district.

Mrs. Museveni said that the current HIV/AIDS infection rate that stand at 6.5 % need to be dealt with urgently. She noted that Uganda’s effort in the early 90’s had registered tremendous success which had brought the infection rate from 30-6%.
Mrs. Museveni advised the youth to practice abstinence until marriage and avoid misleading messages that endanger their lives. Mrs. Jeanette Kagame gave tips to the students on how to stay focused on studies and live up to their dreams
Mrs. Kagame is in Uganda on a private visit.

The two first ladies toured the school and had time to interact with the students and the schools administration.

Mean while Jeanette further called the African people to embrace the African culture and preserve it’s because it unites us together as African.

She said this while addressing the people of Biharwe Mbarara District who welcomed her at Igongo Cultural Centre where she was with her host, Mrs. Janet Museveni.
