Police have through the rapid Response Unit arrested 11 suspects, recovering 11 guns and 172 rounds of ammunitions in an operation carried out during the last 3 weeks.

Police spokesperson Judith Nabakooba says the suspects are alleged to have committed crimes of robbery, and murder from their theft victims.

The operation has been carried out in the districts of Kampala, Mpigi, Serere, Soroti, Wakiso and Namutumba.

Nabakooba says they have managed to recover 2 vehicles, 3 motorcycles, and 42 sacks of rice that were meant to be transported to Sudan and army as well as Police uniforms.

She notes that the suspects are to face charges of robbery and murder among others.
