Ugandan gets 5 billion shillings grant for Human Rights and good governance

The European Union has given Ugandan government a grant worth 5 billion shillings towards the protection of Human Rights, accountability and good governance program.

Speaking at the signing of the financing agreement with the government of Uganda, Deputy Ambassador Jose Solar says the fund is aimed at strengthening dialogue mechanisms and consultations on key policies.

He says discussions are ongoing with the supervising and contracting authorities with the view to supporting other government institutions adding that the move would ensure best use of resources for the benefit of Uganda.

say projects are in place for leaders to interface with the citizen for accountability.

She noted that there are some legislatures who are not yet aware of the responsibilities adding that through the projects, legislatures will be in position to interface with citizens.
