UTODA fails to produce contract from Kampala Capital City Authority

Kampala Capital City Authority leadership today put officials of Uganda Taxi Operators and Drivers Association to task to explain its legality to run two taxi parks in the city center.

Kampala city Lord Mayor, Erias Lukwago today met the officials and challenged them to produce relevant documents to back their contract.

However, the officials, led by UTODA chairman, Hajji Musa Katongole feigned ignorance over their contract and asked for more time to sort out the issues.

According to the letter sent out to UTODA, representatives of the taxi body were required to come with all documents concerning their work but had none to show.

The stalemate forced the Mayor to adjourn the meeting to Tuesday next week.

Lukwago insists UTODA has no contract from KCCA, but the Executive Director, Jenifer Musisi Semakula said UTODA has a valid contract.
