The Democratic Party has dismissed accusations by President Yoweri Museveni that the opposition are responsible for the current economic crisis in the country.
The development follows a televised Presidential address last week on the economic situation in the country where he pinned members of the opposition as the cause of the current situation.
President Museveni, in his speech, cited the blocking of the Mabira Forest give away to Mehta which he said should have increased the production of sugar to 250 mega tonnes among other projects like Bujagali power dam construction.
But DP Legal advisor Fred Mukasa Mbidde says the President has failed to run the country and has now resorted to accusing the opposition of his failures.
He has advised Museveni to step aside and give DP a chance to transform Uganda ’s economy in a record four months time.
