Senior UPDF offers accused of deploying juniors on personal businesses

Members of parliament have expressed concern over what they termed as growing habit of senior army officers deploying their juniors to attend to their cattle instead of doing army related work.

MPs on the defence and internal affairs committee of Parliament today instructed the Chief of Defence Forces Gen. Aronda Nyakairima to ensure the practice is immediately stopped.

According to the committee chaired by Kigulu south MP Milton Muwuma, the deployment of soldiers to look after cattle belonging to senior UPDF officers is abuse of the army profession.

Lwemiyaga constituency MP Theodore Sekikubo also noted that some officers have gone to the extent of deploying colleagues to guard their concubines there by abandoning their official work.

Gen. Aronda condemned the act and requested the public to volunteer more information in that regard so such officers so they can be disciplined accordingly.
