Police urges against construction works during rainy season

As the rain fall intensifies in the country Real estate developers and construction companies have been advised to halt the construction works to avoid losses during the construction.

According to the metrological department, the torrential rainfall that has been recorded shows that there is likely to be heavy rains in the coming three months until October 2010.

The police chief fire safety officer peter Simon Musoke says heavy rains make the soils water logged creating room for many accidents.

Musoke adds that during such periods, it is not advisable to build building foundations and basements since the soils are very weak and soft.

Musoke is now advising workers and constructors, engineers, stone queries that those who are digging pit latrines; wells among others of the like to also suspend these works for some time until the rains reduce to avoid accidents.
