Parents under their umbrella body, National parents network together with The Uganda coalition for moral values have re-energized their campaign against homosexuality in the country.

The two groups today launched another campaign to pester the government to support the passing of the anti homosexuality bill into law to cub down the cropping vice.

Speaking to journalists in Kampala today, the coordinator of the parent’s network, Pastor. Stephen Langa says absence of the legislation on homosexuality has greatly contributed to the increase of the vice among young nationals with groups now cropping in schools and universities. He says Makerere law faculty has been pointed out to be leading in recruiting young people into homosexuality.

Langa is asking parliament to quickly pass the anti homosexuality bill into law to save the nation from what he calls immoral acts. He blamed the cabinet for keeping a deaf ear on the bill which they have refused to support.

Dr. Shira Sara Ndyanabangi of the Uganda coalition for moral values attacks western countries which she says have been at the fore front of promoting immoral values into the young generation. She wants the government to start scrutinizing NGOs from western countries before allowing them to operate in Uganda.

At the meeting, Justine Bakadde a teacher by profession called upon the education ministry to set up protection guidelines that will be followed by those who wish to stage promotions in schools as a way of prevent immoral values from not getting into schools.

She also called upon the police to seriously investigate all case related to homosexuality and bring them before court for trial.
