Police warn of repeat September 11th terrorist attack

Uganda Police have warned the public against terrorists who might strike anytime between now and 11th September to ‘celebrate’ the ten years after the attacks in 2001 at the twin Towers in New York City, USA.

The new commander in charge of Kampala Metropolitan Andrew Felix Kaweesi says intelligence information indicates that terrorists are planning to attack Uganda to mark 10 years of attacks in America.

Suspected Al Qaeda militants attacked the US on 11th September 2001 killing more than 3,000 people.

Kaweesi says the terrorists want to maintain a record of attacks, urging the public to be cautious if the country is to prevent such an occurrence.

Police spokesperson in charge of the Metropolitan Ibin Ssenkumbi says they have put in place security measures to counter the planned attacks.
