Indians to open Fortis endoscopic hospital in Kampala

Ugandans who have been spending money to travel to India for brain and heart operations now have a chance to get quality treatment right here in Uganda.

The Bangalore based Fortis hospital has promised to open a branch in Kampala. Fortis hospital is one of the leading hospitals in the world when it comes to conducting medical operations.

Kyadondo South MP, Issa Kikungwe who last month underwent an endoscopic Trans nasal surgery at Fortis hospital confirmed that the doctors of this hospital have told him that they will start building the branch in Kampala early 2012. He says that Fortis hospital has a good team of Neurosurgeons.

Kikungwe says that the Fortis doctors want their branch to handle all cases the Ugandan doctors have been referring to India.

He says that when Fortis hospital opens its branch in Kampala it will save billions of money Ugandan patients have been spending to travel to India for heart operation.

The doctors at Fortis hospital can carry out an operation without cutting any part of the body. To be admitted at Fortis hospital in India, a patient needs to have not less than 9,000 US dollars.
