ADF rebels deny killing Sheikh Sentamu but gave important information

The ADF rebels led by Jamil Mukulu have denied having had any hand in the killing of Uganda Muslim scholar, Sheikh Abdul Karim Sentamu.

Sheikh Sentamu was shot dead in the heart of Kampala a couple of weeks back and the suspicion quickly fell on the Uganda government security agencies. President Museveni is the commander in chief of the armed forces in Uganda.

In a bid for president Museveni to cement the suspicion, he told a group of Muslims from Kibuli Muslim faction that Sheikh Sentamu was shot dead while he was talking on phone with the leader of ADF, Jamilu Mukulu.

Sheikh Jamil Mukulu is the most wanted man by president Museveni’s. However many people, especially in Kampala question if late Sentamu was talking with Jamil Mukulu why wasn’t he arrested but killed.

However Jamil Mukulu on Thursday called some Muslim scholars in Kampala and denied allegations that Sheikh Sentamu was killed while talking to him.

A prominent Sheikh from Kibuli based Muslim faction who declined to be mentioned for fear of being linked to ADF rebels told sections of journalists in Kampala that late Sentamu could have been killed by agents of a man whom he referred to as only ‘Minaani.’  Among opposition politicians this name is used to refer to one of the powerful men in the Uganda government. But for us we don’t know who exactly Minaani is!
