Kasese election campaigns: Police arrests opposition activists

Security has started its (dirty) work in Kasese district woman MP by election campaigns. The news our reporters in Kasese send to us have it that Police and soldiers in plain clothes have arrested local council Councilors from Busongora North.

The security network blames the councilors (most of them members of Forum for Democratic Change)   for inciting the Bakonzo not to vote the NRM candidate in the race, Rehema Rukundo.

The councilors arrested accuse the NRM government of aiding the self imposed King of the Basongora to establish a parallel kingdom in Kasese.

However the Bakonzo leaders have threatened to ask all the Bakonzo tribesmen living in the mountains of Kasese to come down with spears and guns to rescue the councilors arrested.
