Uganda National Drug Authority to check on inflow of fake drugs

The Uganda National Drug Authority (NDA) is scheduled to check on the rampant inflow of counterfeit medicines and drugs into the country in order to ensure adherence to standards.

A senior source at the NDA head offices in Entebbe Uganda told us that the organisation is destined to carry out regular and impromptu checks on all the drugs sold in Uganda. This senior source spoke to us on condition of anonymity because he was not authorised to speak to the press.

The source says that NDA has already sent its operatives at the boarder points to arrest importers and drug dealers whose drugs are found fake.

Uganda is looked at by other countries in East Africa as the final destination of fake drugs and general items from China, India etc.
