Nandala threatens to resign post of leader of opposition in parliament

Budadiri West MP, Nandala Mafabi has threatened to resign the post of leader of opposition in parliament so that he contests for the presidency of Forum for Democratic Change (FDC).

Nandala Mafabi says he would leave his office as he campaigns for the Forum for Democratic Change presidency. But he also says he will not use his office resources to campaign for party presidency because he has the ability of using everything personal in this exercise.

He says he will put someone to act as Leader of opposition during the time he would be very much involved in campaigns. FDC last week announced that the two candidates seeking the party’s top leadership must step down from their public positions during the campaigns.

Mafabi is contesting for the post with former Uganda Army Commander Maj. Gen. Mugisha Muntu and Tororo County MP Geoffrey Ekanya. The elections will take place on November 22 at Namboole in Wakiso District.
