Minister Simon Dujang fails to convince on Karuma Hydro power dam

Members of parliament on the natural resources committee have again taken on the state energy minister over the Karuma project deal.

This followed Minister Simon Dujang’s failure to disclose the particulars of an individual who reportedly dragged government to court over the Karuma Power project.

The minister said he was not ready to give any details about the person arguing that this would be subjudice.

This was however rejected by the committee members including Alice Alaso, Ignatius Wamakunyu, Okumu Reagan and Rosemary Nyakikongoro and Komuhangi Margret among others.

The Mps last week threw the minister out demanding that he returns with a comprehensive report responding to the committee’s queries

One of the sticking issues is the controversy surrounding the bidding process with glaring inconsistencies in the names of the companies involved.
