Parliament unhappy about Karuma Hydro power uncertainty

MPs on the Natural Resource committee have thrown out the minister of state for Energy Simon D’ujanga for failure to explain mess in karuma power project bidding process.

The mps on the committee chaired by Micheal Werikhe had tasked minister D’ujanga to explain how salin SPA a company which was not prequalified in the bidding process for karuma power project accepted to summit its bidding docurement .

Mps discovered that Salini SPA Impersonated as   Salini CONSTRUTTOTORI SPA to be part of nine companies and returned bidding docurements  and accepted by the ministry of Energy and when saline SPA was rejected later put an injuction on the project .

Mp werikhe said that the legal matters surrounding karuma project if are not sorted out could delay the project and the country is left in power black out in the next four years.

Mps are to summon the Attorney General to appear before the committee and put on task to explain how a company which was not shortlisted put an injunction on karuma power project work.
