Uganda Peoples Congress urges on separation of powers

The opposition UPC party says after clocking 50 years of independence the three arms of government should be allowed to function autonomously and desist from being manipulated by the state.

UPC Vice president Joseph Bbosa says government has so far failed to uphold the constitution which he says could cause a crisis that might plunge the country into total dictatorial rule like envisaged in the
past regimes.

Bbosa says the executive should let all the arms of government function as of the constitution to show political maturity the NRM government claims to have attained.

He says all good governments must uphold the principle of separation of powers between the three arms of government namely the Executive, Judiciary and the Legislature.
