Ministry of Public Service officials re-arrested

Four officials who today reported back to CID seeking for the extension of their bond have been re-arrested.

 Francis Lubega in charge ICT department at the ministry of public service, Kenneth Turomwe an accountant at the same ministry, Kiwanuka Kunsa in charge Research and planning and the National secretary of the East African Community Beneficiaries Association Peter Sajjabi who is the the alleged master planner of the ghost pensioners, were instructed to record statement on illicit accumulation of wealth.

 Last week the Directorate of Criminal investigations wrote to the government register and the ministry of lands seeking the two authorities to put a covert on the properties of the people who are being investigated on the alleged pension scam.

 The four officials were first, all interrogated by a team of CID officials at Kibuli and letter they were remanded and now they are being detained at the special investigations unit at Kireka a Kampala suburb.

 The police is investigating the abuse of over 63billion shillings that was paid to over 1000 ghost workers
