Articles and adverts needed for Bunyoro-Kitara Trade, Tourism and Agricultural Expo 2013

Top gear engaged for Bunyoro-Kitara Trade, Tourism and Agricultural Expo 2013 in Hoima this June.

The one-week Expo will coincide with the Empango celebrations due on June 11th. The aim of the Expo is to re-brand and market Bunyoro region as an international investment destination for the benefit of our people.  The Omukama of Bunyoro-Kitara Kingdom, His Majesty Agutamba Solomon Gafabusa Iguru I appointed a 7-member Board of Trustees, including me, to spearhead the Expo activities.  The theme is “Tapping Bunyoro’s Economic Potential”.  As you might be aware, the trustees earmarked publication of a commemorative magazine as part of these activities and it will be on sale to raise money for the Empango.

In this respect the Board of Trustees has appointed the following people to constitute the Magazine Editorial Board:

1.  Mr Isaac Kalembe from Uganda Communications Commission, Kampala – Chairman
2.  Mr James Bakama from The New Vision, Kampala –  Member
3.  Mr Pascal Kwesiga from The New Vision, Kampala –  Member
4.  Mr Francis Mugerwa from The Daily Monitor, Hoima –  Member
5.  Mr Kyetume Kasanga from Prime Minister’s Office, Kampala –  Editor

The purpose of this memo is to request you submit original and well researched or thought-out quality feature articles, photographs, opinions, criticisms, etc along the above theme for publication in the magazine.  Features should be accompanied by the author’s coloured passport-size photo to be published alongside the feature(s). It is entirely your choice to write on any subject including but not limited to education, health, ICT, culture, traditions, forestry, aquaculture, horticulture, livestock, poultry, beekeeping, tourism, wildlife, land matters, marketing, governance issues, political commentary, public policy, agriculture, law and order, hospitality industry, entertainment, oil and gas, minerals and exploitation, infrastructure, etc.  The write-ups should focus on the development of Bunyoro.

Attached, please, find some parts of the concept note that might help you.  We expect features of between 800-1,500 words.  You can write as many feature articles as possible and you will be remunerated for each.  Plagiarism will not be accepted but in any case writers are expected to observe the standard writing procedures and practices.  As you know, articles with relevant accompanying photographs attract greater visibility.  Start now because the deadline is not very far.
