Tanzania plots to form new block with Democratic Republic of Congo

Tanzania is plotting to breakaway from the ‘president Museveni controlled’ East African Community and instead is to join Burundi and the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) in forming a new regional block.

Impecabble sources in Dar es Salam told us that Tanzania will only return to the East African Community (EAC) after Museveni is out of Kampala government.

Tanzania claims that it wants the East African Community block based on mutual respect and prosperity, not this one of president Museveni that is reportedly driven by the need to dominate. The East African Community is currently considered one of the world’s fastest progressive economic blocs in the world, though it is currently threatened by splits among partner states.

Tanzania also protests against the joint infrastructure undertakings of Kenya, Uganda and Rwanda. Tanzania claims that the projects under deliberation by meetings of Kenya’s Uhuru Kenyatta, Uganda’s Yoweri Museveni and Rwanda’s Paul Kagame, should have been endorsed first by all the EAC member countries.

Tanzania says that bi-lateral or tri-lateral agreements needed consensus before  implementation. According to the law, decisions in the EAC are made by consensus and no partner state is compelled to append its approval to that of the other member states as Uganda, Kenya and Rwanda did.
