UYD meets with Uruguay president

In a bid to solicit for funds to run their politics and perhaps enrich them, a delegation of Uganda Young Democrats (UYD) led by Sam Muyizzi went to Uruguay and met with President Jose Mujica.

President Jose Mujica is believed to be the most modest President in the world. While meeting on Thursday with President Jose Mujica, Muyizzi quoted him as saying, “I’m called ‘the poorest president’, but I don’t feel poor. Poor people are those who only work to try to keep an expensive lifestyle, and always want more and more.”
President Jose Mujica further said that “this is a matter of freedom. If you don’t have many possessions then you don’t need to work all your life like a slave to sustain them, and therefore you have more time for yourself.” The president said that working is a free choice. This is not the first time UYD leaders led by Luweero woman MP Brenda Nabukenya, Kenneth Paul Kakande and Muyizzi are meeting with world presidents. They have met with South Africa, Kenya and Norwegian presidents before.
