High blood pressure is divided into 5 categories

 

Blood pressure is the measure of the force of blood pushing against blood vessel walls. High Blood Pressure is greatly influenced by diet and someone’s lifestyle. Various conditions and medications can lead to both primary high blood pressure and secondary hypertension.

 

High blood pressure is divided into 5 categories named below:

1• Hypotension (low blood pressure)
Systolic mmHg 90 or less, or
Diastolic mmHg 60 or less

2• Normal
Systolic mmHg 90-119, and
Diastolic mmHg 60-79

3• Prehypertension
Systolic mmHg 120-139, and
Diastolic mmHg 80-89

4• Stage 1 Hypertension
Systolic mmHg 140-159, and
Diastolic mmHg 90-99

5• Stage 2 Hypertension
Systolic mmHg over 160, and
Diastolic mmHg over 100
