Dr. Riek Machar blames Museveni for spliting South Sudan

Former South Sudan   Vice President Dr. Riek Machar has blamed president Museveni for dividing South Sudan. Dr. Riek went to war with the government of President Salva Kiir in self defence but not as an aggressor.

The doctor, speaking in one of his hideout in South Sudan on Monday said Museveni is to take blame for splitting South Sudan which has made the two leaders (Kiir and Riek) fights each other leading to loss of life. Riek advised Museveni to talk peace with LRA leader Joseph Kony instead of deploying UPDF to kill civilians of the Neur tribe in South Sudan. Museveni sent his soldiers of UPDF to save the government of Salva Kiir from being over thrown by Riek Machar’s freedom fighters.

Dr. Riek says that he is committed to a sustainable peace and rule of law in South Sudan. He also says that he is willing and ready to forgive President Kiir and continue to seek peaceful means to end differences that caused war in which over 5,000 people including over 700 UPDF soldiers to lose their lives.
