UNEB is giving schools PLE results on CDs

Uganda National Examination Board (UNEB) Secretary Mathew Bukenya has said that his body has improved on its services as it has started giving schools their PLE results on CDs.

Speaking at Statistics House in Kampala during the release of the Primary Leaving Examinations (PLE), Bukenya also said now all PLE results are online and they can be accessed anywhere.

But journalists kept on wondering whether the PLE results UNEB released were real and credible. But Bukenya dogged the question by saying “UNEB used chief examiners, used the same machines and have even improved by giving results on CD.”

On the issue of non-payment of staff at UNEB, Bukenya and education minister Jessica Alupo still down played it saying “UNEB is not undergoing any financial difficulties.”

Alupo said UNEB has all the money it needs to see it through the preparation of exams results channeled from the government to UNEB through the ministry of education and sports.

The concern on the credibility of the results arose from media reports of breakdown of computers and scanners at UNEB.
