Museveni to pay president Kabila $2m for flushing out ADF rebels

Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni has praised his counterpart of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), President Joseph Kabila upon his successful operation in flashing out the ADF rebels in the Eastern parts of DRC. We have also got unconfirmed reports that Museveni has pledged US $2m to Kabila for his military’s efforts against ADF.

Museveni says the Congo army’s operations overrun the headquarters of the ADF in the Eastern Region last week, making an end of ADF threats to Uganda.

Museveni who was attending the NRM caucus retreat in Kyankwanzi last week said President Kabila personally called him to inform him of the successful operations against ADF.

The ADF rebels held bases in Congo for many years and were seen as a major obstacle to peace in Congo and Uganda.
