MPs discover ways how money was stolen in Prime Minister’s office

Uganda legislators want former Permanent Secretary in Prime Minister’s office, Pius Bigirimana held responsible for ush3b that was borrowed from the UK/UG post conflict development program for “office impress” without clear guidelines on how the funds were to be used by Uganda government.

The outgoing PAC chairman in Uganda parliament, Kasiano Wadri says other ways Uganda government officials swindled donor funds and other public funds include depositing huge sums of money on to personal accounts of prime minister’s office staff members and suppliers and having the money returned to the office of the prime minister in cash.

Kasiano also shows that president Museveni’s wife, Janet Museveni allegedly used PRDP funds to travel to Israel nine times in one month. But she is lucky as the legislators have not held her responsible for loss of public funds.
