Educational grants for women from developing countries.

 

The Margaret McNamara Memorial Fund (MMMF) awards educational grants to women from developing countries whose graduate studies and future plans aim to benefit women and children in their respective regions.

For students from developing countries who are currently studying in South Africa at the University of Pretoria, the University of Cape Town, the University of Stellenbosch and the University of Witwatersrand.

MMMF awards grants of approximately US$4,000 each.

Eligibility:

  • Has a record of service to women and/or children in her country or other developing country.
  • Is enrolled at the University of Pretoria or the University of Cape Town when applying and remains enrolled during the entire year of the grant.
  • Uses the grant to study for her degree.
  • Is a citizen of a World Bank lower or middle income member country
  • Plans to return to home country or another developing country within 30 months after receiving grant and perform at least two years of service.
  • Demonstrates financial need.
  • Is at least 25 years old .
  • Is not related to any World Bank Group staff member or his/her or her spouse.
