Attorney general begs Lukwago to accept peace-talks

Uganda’s attorney General Peter Nyombi has said the Government is still open to negotiation with a view of settling out of court the disagreement between Kampala Lord Mayor Erias Lukwago and the government.

Nyombi says that while it’s the right of Government and Lukwago to continue with their judicial process, it is better to settle state differences with Lukwago politically through dialogue and reconciliation.

Nyombi further says that Government had welcomed dialogue initiated by the former leader of opposition Nathan Nandala Mafabi but these negotiations later collapsed.

The attorney general says that NRM government is still open to negotiations with Lukwago and whoever wishes to mediate is free to approach president Museveni.
