I (Bobi Wine, Uganda’s leading musician) was working with Red Cross for seven years as their goodwill ambassador. And I imported a Toyota Tundra pick up using my money and since I was working with them, I asked for a lift in their container. I paid Uganda shillings 53 million in taxes for that car… But the Uganda Red Cross Society officials ploted to steal my car.

We have all long known Uganda Red Cross Society as a corrupt free organisation. But it is now a den of thieves. Uganda Red Cross employees are my friends. And there is nothing wrong being a friend of Red Cross employees. Uganda Red Cross Society also owes me 43 million Uganda shillings but when I demand for this money they trash my request.

When the Uganda police investigators impounded this Toyota Tundra pick up from Uganda Red Cross Society (URCS), I went to police and told it that that car was mine.

I drove the Tundra with a red registration number plate UAT 416K from the Criminal Intelligence and Investigations Department (CIID) at Kibuli amid protests from the URCS. The Tundra car had been parked at Kibuli police after it was impounded on suspicion of tax evasion. But the Uganda Red Cross Society protested the release of their vehicle to Bobi Wine on grounds that the vehicle belonged to them.
