Churches in Ugandaface a “terrorist threat,” the US embassy in Kampala has warned following a wave of terrorist attacks in East Africa reportedly by Al Shabaab fighters. But the same American embassy has threatened Uganda for a long time now of the possible terrorist attacks on Uganda’s capital whenever Al Shabaab hits Kenya.

The US embassy claims that terrorists are preparing to bomb places of worship in Kampala between May and June 2014. The the born again church leaders in Kampala told us that ‘no terrorist weapon against their churches shall prosper.’ Al-Qaeda linked Shebab insurgents working through their supporters have been blamed for striking Kenya. The terrorists revenge on Kenya over its involvement in Somalia without the consent of the people of Mogadishu. Both Uganda and Kenya presidents contributed troops to fight Al Shabaab fighters in Somalia. President Museveni and his counterpart of Kenya Uhuru Kenyatta sent troops to Somalia without the consent of the people of Kenya or Uganda.

The Shebab fighters killed over 76 people in Kampala in 2010, but president Museveni instead sent more soldiers to Somalia. Al Shabaab fighters politely asked Kenya and Uganda to withdraw their troops from Somalia, but Kenyan and Ugandan presidents respectively deliberately refused to honour the Shebab requests.
