Museveni not invited at World Export Development Forum

 

Rwanda in September 2014 will host the World Export Development Forum (WEDF). WEDF is an annual global event organised to help small and medium enterprises to access world markets.

The forum will be the first time high-profile event in East Africa. The event is organised by the International Trade Centre. The forum will run under the theme, “SMEs: Creating jobs through trade.”

The World Export Development Forum will run from September 16-17th, 2014.

The World Export Development Forum will be the highlight of the organisation’s 50th year anniversary. The forum is expected to bring together over 400 top policy makers, business leaders, heads of trade support institutions and international organisations from around the world to discuss ways to achieve trade-led inclusive sustainable development through entrepreneurshipemployment and economic growth.

East African presidents, Uhuru Kenyatta of Kenya, Paul Kagame of Rwanda, and Jakaya Kikwete of Tanzania have been invited to attend the World Export Development Forum. But Ugandan president, Gen. Kaguta Museveni has been left out. It is said that Museveni was left out because of the gruelity of Uganda police and corruption in Uganda’s public offices.
