Museveni, Obama, Pope Francis top world leaders on Twitter

 

Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni has been named one of Africa’s topmost influential leaders on Twitter. According to the latest finding of Burson-Marsteller’s Twiplomacy study 2014, Museveni has over 40,000 followers on social media.

Twiplomacy is one of the leading global study of world leaders on Twitter. The research is conducted by leading global public relations and communications firm Burson-Marsteller.

Twilomacy analyzes each leader’s Twitter profiles, tweet history, and their connections with each other. Museveni became active on social media in April 2014.

According to Twilomacy, Museveni is the 20th most influential leader on Twitter at the global level. Museveni is followed by Kenya’s President Uhuru Kenyatta and Rwanda’s Paul Kagame. US President Barack Obama tops the world-leaders in having many followers and lovers on twiter. Obama has 43.7 million followers followed by Pope Francis with 14 million followers.
