Muslims to conserve environment

The Mufti of Uganda Sheikh Shaban Ramadhan Mubaje has called Muslims to conserve the environment.

Mubajje was on Monday speaking at Uganda Muslim supreme council headquarters in Kampala. The Muslim leadership in Kampala dedicates every second Friday of the Holy Month of Ramadhan to promote awareness about environmental conservation.

The Mufti is asking all Muslims in Uganda to actively ensure that the environment is protected. Mubajje says the people who tamper with nature destroys the entire eco-system because all creatures are inter dependent.

The Mufti urges Muslims to plant trees, spare water bodies and the air from pollution. The Mufti appealed to Muslims not to indulge in acts of betting, vulgar language and all forbidden actions noting that the holy month of Ramadhan should always mark the end of bad deeds and the beginning of righteousness for Muslims.
