Police blocks FDC president from accessing parliament

In Parliamentary on Tuesday Police blocked the FDC Party President, Maj Gen Mugisha Muntu from accessing Parliament citing orders from president Museveni and the government’s security agencies even when the FDC National secretary General who is also Serere District Woman MP, Alaso Alice Asianut tried to intervene in vain.

But the MPs said its a very bad incident of dehumanizing opposition leaders. They say Parliament is a public facility where every Ugandan should be free to access it.

Above all Gen. Muntu is a leader of the main opposition Party FDC which has the majority opposition MPs in Uganda Parliament. The MP for Kampala Central, Nsereko Muhamad says for Muntu going to Parliament was not a crime. MP Nsereko says Uganda belongs to all citizens of Uganda though President Museveni wants it to belong to only people of his political party in NRM.
