US counters China’s growing influence in Africa

The US-Africa leaders’ summit going on in America has been designed to counter the growing influence of China in Africa. It looks it is too late for the USA as China has increased its influence on the African continent by funding large projects.

Secondly, unlike the US, China does not concern it’s self with issues of human rights, corruption and dictatorship making it more friendly to most African leaders.

What is funny also is that the US is a debtor to China! The only option for the US is to relax its tough stance or support regime change in Africa at a faster rate in order to have a new beginning. Many African presidents left for the United States of America for the US-Africa leaders’ Summit that was called by US President Barack Obama.

The 4-day event took place in Washington DC from 4th to 7th August 2014. The US-Africa Summit has focused on issues of trade and investment. According to sources the Summit has served as a forum at which the United State of America has underlined its commitment to the African continent and its people, democracy and security.
