The awarding ceremony is taking place in Kampala, Uganda this Wednesday 8th, April 2015.
A total of 50 journalists were shortlisted for the awards organised by African Centre for Media Excellency with support from Dutch international development organisation, HIVOS.
Chief Justice Bart Katureebe is the chief guest at the ceremony, while renowned South African journalist Ferial Haffajee, editor of the City Press newspaper in Johannesburg, is delivering the keynote address.
ACME’s Executive Director, Dr Mwesige Peter hopes that the Uganda National Journalism Awards will become one of Africa’s premier journalism events that will for many years inspire Ugandan journalists to seek and achieve excellence.
