The European Union Election Observation Mission to Uganda is calling for co-ordination of all election related activities to ensure a peaceful process. Chief Observer Eduard Kukan, a Slovak member of the European Parliament, says the team drawn from 9 countries will be working with local stakeholders to support the electoral process.

Addressing a news conference in Kampala this morning Kukan said the EU Election Observation Mission objective is to observe all aspects of electoral process prior to, during and after the elections. He further outlines the mission’s areas of focus.

A total of 120 EU observers are to monitor next months polls across the country.
