Iran to start new phase of bilateral relations with Uganda

The Iranian Ambassador to Uganda H.E Dr. Amir Hossein Nikbin has announced plans to open a new phase in technical support and bilateral relations with Uganda following the lifting of international sanctions. Dr. Nikbin, during a courtesy call on the Speaker of Parliament Rebecca Kadaga at her Chambers said one of the priority areas in the new cooperation will be vocational training aimed at retooling the workforce. The Ambassador also congratulated both the Speaker and President Museveni upon being re-elected during the last national elections.

Kadaga stressed  the need for closer inter Parliamentary cooperation between Uganda and Iran. She promised to revamp the inter-parliamentary friendship between the two sister parliaments. She also appealed to the Ambassador to consider the training of youths and industrialization outside the city among the key areas that require urgent intervention.

Kadaga hailed the Iranian government for its current development support to Ugandans. The two  discussed opportunities to expand and promote cooperation between the two states in diverse fields.
