Drug dealers nabbed in Fort Portal

The police rapid response unit in fort portal Kabarole district has nabbed three suspected opium and mairungi dealers in fort portal town.

The trio have been identified as Steven Byaruhanga 42 years a resident of Kyanduru in Mugusu sub county, Clovis Mwesige 20 a brick layer  in Gweri parish Karambi sub county and Joseph Kwikiriza, 34 a resident of Katumba –Kyegobe in South division Fort Portal municipality Kabarole district.

Mugga Bakari, the Western Regional police spokesperson says the trio was nabbed during a security operation by the Rapid Response Unit on Wednesday night.

The police say Mwesige has been the main opium supplier to brick layers and builders in Karambi Sub County and Kasusu trading centre in south division fort portal municipality.

Bakari says that police have also impounded 3kg of grained and rolled opium and uprooted some that had been planted at Mwesige’s home.
