Kyambogo University has today finally got a new Chancellor in the names of prof. John Sebuwufu ending months of anarchy which had dogged this institution arising from leadership wrangles.

In a ceremony presided over by education and sports minister Maj. Jessica Alupo at Kyambogo univesity

He bashed those who prefer conflicts to team building, saying such people are against development.

Witnessed by several other chancellors from other varsities including Makarere’s prof. Mondo Kagonyera, Sebuwufu was asked by government to redeem Kyambogo using his vast knowledge and experience as former VC Makerere and also other capacities he has held.

Alupo said that as government, they expect a lot from Sebuwufu using his knowledge so as to stabilize Kyambogo and also take it to greater heights.

She says Kyambogo is going to get shs70bn soon to constrict more infrastructures, improve on the existing ones, train human resource after government secured a loan from African Development Bank worth USD150m to benefit all the five public varsities in the country
