The Secretary General of the ruling National Resistance Movement (NRM), Amama Mbabazi has said their party is not scared by the inter-party coalition. Four of the opposition parties in Uganda, FDC, Jeema, CP and Uganda Peoples Congress are currently the only members of the inter-party coalition.
Speaking to Ultimate Media in Kampala today, Mbabazi said NRM is hopeful that the coalition fields single candidates in 2011 elections such that the ruling party wins the opposition as a group.
This is not the first time opposition parties to form an alliance during elections. The opposition parties have formed alliances since 1996 and lost elections to NRM.
