Parliament resumes today after election break

Parliament resumes today for the first time since the 18th February 2016 presidential and parliamentary elections that swept many ministers and members of parliament out of parliamentMPs return to parliament from recess for the 1st sitting of the third meeting of the fifth session of the 9th parliament after spending two months in elections.
The order of business for MPs will be handling the Children’s Amendment bill 2015, the Capital markets Authority Amendment bill 2015 and pending committee reports. The Parliamentary Committee on Statutory Authorities and State Enterprises (COSASE) will present reports on audited accounts for some public enterprises. The defense and internal Affairs committee will also present to parliament the petition by the former prisons officers Kasese district local government and the committee on Physical Infrastructure will present a report on the Mbarara by-pass & other roads & bridges in Kanungu district.
This parliament resumes as its term ends in mid May 2016.
