Religious leaders call for unity and reconciliation among people

Religious leaders from Bunyooro Kitara have called for unity and reconciliation among the government and the opposition, and the people of Bunyooro Kitara Kingdom to enable sustainable development.

The call was made by the different religious leader who had gathered for the annual interface “Mpango” a communal service at Matilda gardens organized by chairman organizing committee for the Mpango celebrations MP. Elect Masindi municipality Earnest Kiiza that is slate for June 11 2011 at Karuzika palace in Hoima district.

Right reverend Stanley Ntgali of Masindi Kitara diocese noted that although Bunyooro Kitara is the oldest kingdom in east Africa it still has avoidable conflicts that have kept the old money under developed.

He called upon political leaders to avoid issues that divide the region and instead focus on reconciliation and nation building.

On behalf of Bunyooro parliamentary group the MP for Bujenje and minister for information and national guidance Winnie Kabakumba Mastiko thanked the organizing committee for mobilizing Bunyooro for this noble cause.
