Thermal fuel companies accused of corruption

The member of parliament for katerera county  in Rubirizi district Hatwib katoto says corruption is part of the causes for shortage of power in the country.

He raised the concerns while contesting the amount of money the power generation companies demand for continuing of power generation to minimize  the current load shedding.

Katoto says the power suppliers demand 171 million dollars which is higher than the 135 million dollars cost of the fuel the country imports per year.

He said that MPS should be on alert to detect corruption in companies supplying power because part of the funds they ask for power generation could be benefiting individuals at the expense of poor Ugandans.
