The Uganda Red Cross Society has started relocating thousands of people who remain at the risk of being hit by landslides in Bududa district.

The landslides that struck three villages of Bududa earlier this month left over 90 people dead and over 300 people missing while thousands of others displaced.

A recent monitoring exercise conducted  by the Uganda Red Cross established that over 10,000 people living around Mt -Elgon are living under threat of fresh landslides, with notable cracks developing along the mountain.

The Head of Uganda Red Cross, Richard Chaddy says a team from the Red Cross and central government started moving the people living in danger areas on Monday.
