Breast Cancer affects many women

Statistics indicate that 36 out of every 100,000 Ugandans were found with breast cancer in 2009.

The chairperson of Uganda women’s cancer support organization, Specioza Kabwegyere says women in their 30s and early forty years are more at risk.

She urges women and men to go for early screening and regular checks to treat the disease before it goes out of hand.

Kabwegyere says developing countries are more prone to this epidemic with statistics from the World health Organization indicating that about 1.3 million women are diagnosed each year, while over 465, 000 die each year globally.
